So what’s a girl to do?
245 SPAM comments yesterday.
1443 today.
How do I stop it? I don’t want to accidentally delete a real comment in the process of deleting the unwelcome ones and I don’t really want to sit through and read each and every spam comment. I just don’t have the time.
If I mass mark them all as spam on my wordpress dashboard thingy, does that mean they won’t turn up again?

Aaaaargh, you post about spam and get a spam comment! I know that Umm Zaid and others have Askimet (spelling?) installed to catch spam — maybe that would work, insha’Allah.

Also, you could try moderating comments, or require that everyone who comments have a WP account. WP has made it possible now to have an account without needing a blog just for the purposes of commenting/avoiding spam.
b..it’s ok that “spam” was from my devious sister-in-law. I think I might have to have her banned! Just kidding fee!
Husband has had a look at Akismet and apparently it only works for wordpress 2.0 and I’m using 1.5 or whatever. I will leave it in his capable hands for now…did you hear that, husband?
