My 3 boys all have their birthdays within 3 weeks of each other (and before anyone asks, no we didn’t sit and plan it like that; there is no significant anniversary or special day 9 months prior to their birthdays – it just happened like that. And don’t pretend like you weren’t thinking it, because I can see your brain ticking from a mile away!) Baby is due soon. So God willing, all 4 will have birthdays close together (again, not strategically planned this way but isn’t it cool?!)
This time of year, I spend a great deal of time reflecting on the days the boys came into the world – I relive my labours and tell the story again and again to my wide eyed children. They never tire of hearing their birth stories and I never tire of telling them. I love reading others’ stories as well. Not just labour stories, but “entry into parenthood” type stories from those who have adopted children, those who have had caesarian sections and tales from fathers and men.
In the next week or so, I’ll be telling you my labour stories and I’d love for you to share your parenthood stories with me, too. I’d love to post them on my blog. If you have a story to share, please email it to me at tasmiyablog(at)gmail(dot)com. Let me know if you would like it password protected and with whom you’d like to share the password ( I understand that for many women it’s a deeply personal, oftentimes embarrassing experience). If you have your story on your own blog and would just like to give me a link, that would be great, too.
