Here she bloody is.
Grumpy, p’d off and really crabby today. The children haven’t been obedient, mindless robots today and sadly that is what I am expecting of them today. Just today, mind. Just today I would like them to dutifully obey and not whinge or whine or cry or have a meltdown. I would like a monotone, “Yes, mother,” along with said obedience.
So I haven’t been managing stress levels very well, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? DO YOU WANNA FIGHT? DO YA? DO YA? SHUT UP!
My in-laws are visiting in one week and my house is a shambles. I’m trying desperately to get it to look like a normal person’s home but alas ’tis not working out favourably in that regard. Doubtless, there are those who will argue but in truth, my home DOES have a routine. The routine being I do what needs to be done and I make allowances for things that are not pressing. Like ironing (pun not intended and gosh I am so unintentionally clever) or the floor that needs mopping. So now those 6 years of “half doing” housework have finally caught up with me and it’s not a pretty sight.
I have neglected my blog and my loyal readership in favour of cleaning! Do you see how dire the situation is?
*looks around at neverending mess*
*cries*

Aww darling T! Your in-laws will love you! Now how many women are clever enough to use pun like you did?!
Aww, just be calm and know that we love you whether or not you “ignore” your blog.
Salamaat,
awww…could you get some cleaning service to wow your in laws? I like your routine, it matches mine
don’t be to hard on yourself… and take Maliha’s advice!! get some help
when I clean, my son always says “hey, is someone coming to visit?” hahaha and usually someone is!
I know just how you feel. I have pretty much the same routine, it just doesn’t usually start until after the kids are in bed. I hope you can get some help and get things done to your satisfaction.
Quick, stuff everything under the bed. It works. Usually….

Salam Tasmiya, subhanAllah this year we are going through the same things right after each other. My grandmother died then yours did. I went for vacation then you did. Your sister had a baby, now my sister had a baby. My in-laws came to visit, and now yours are! this is really creepy….
LOL . Do what you can dear and then just blame it on the kids, that’s what i did. and alhamdulillah i was able to bring two women to clean the house. It took two women 3 1/2 hours to clean my house and they were working non-stop – hmm… that says how dirty my house was! Definately relate to the half-doing housework. Have fun with the in-laws!
Suroor – I know they lubs me! How can they not? Beautiful intelligent, excellent cook and wonderful wife and mother *snort*.
Maliha – I have help but embarrassed about all the mess I’ve accumulated over the years so I would want to clean up before the cleaning person comes. Defeats the purpose. Yes, I’m mad.
Shaz – LOL! I can so relate to that.
Surviving – I tried leaving stuff till the boys are asleep but that’s my time to really be lazy. I end up just looking at the pile of laundry or ironing or the dirty floor and then go straight to bed!
Zhilaal – welcome and thank you for commenting! I don’t have any space under my bed – it’s already taken up with junk
