One of the first things we changed in our home was the front yard. Everyone kept on telling us that we should worry about the garden last and just do up the inside but I’ve always wanted to pull into my driveway and feel happy and excited to be home.
Our home before:
I mean, just LOOK at it. Horribly shaped plants obscuring the door and that god-awful shaped side garden of NOTHING. The patchy lawn could have easily been fixed had we not had water restrictions so I wasn’t that worried about that. Not to say that I am not grateful for our home mashaAllah may Allah keep everyone safe and provide safe housing for everyone.
The first step (and I wish wish wish I had taken pics during the whole thing because we had to do it in stages) was to take out the concrete edging and replace it with something a bit more appealing, then remove those awful plants (they needed regular trimming and we possessed none of the appropriate tools and none of the appropriate skills and certainly none of the appropriate INCLINATION to do that) and plant some low maintenance but still aesthetically appealing flora and then add some mulch so we need not ever fertilise or weed EVER AGAIN.
And here is the result (and I have to admit that these pictures were taken after our wonderfully long and then tediously boring spell of rain):

Wow, masha Allah!
That looks REALLY NICE! What were you talking about? You guys don’t need Jamie Durie!
I hope you are now working on the water feature in the back yard. We would like to see pics of that when it’s done, please.
DSIE.
NOICE!
Looks really lovely mashaAllah.
So are you happy and excited when you pull in the driveway now?
Amazing! I couldn’t have thought of any way to make the yard better and just sat down and cried but Thank The Lord you have better aesthetics than I do, LOOLZ.
Good work, Tasmiya!
COuld you please come over here and do my garden? All I see are weeds – the flowers are drowning!!
Very pretty! I love it!
Looking good!
