We happened to turn on our computer that has a TV card so we can watch TV on our computer TV the other night and came across this show and specifically this skit (warning – actor portraying Jesus peace be upon him). Ok, it’s not rib cracking (is that the right expression?) humour but husband and I did have chuckle.
The producer responsible for this TV show, the Ronnie Johns Half Hour actually approached Australian religious leaders for their take on it before airing. Read more about it here (there is a link to an actual fatwa by Sheikh al-Hilaly)Sad that news portraying Muslims in anything other than a negative light never gets aired.
Anyway, remember Feb 28th!

Nah dude there ARE NO happy muslims!
Everyone knows that!!
Showing something like that on TV would be like … lying to your viewers!
Everyone would be writing in to Media Watch about it.
Besides, if we start doing “Hi Five Muslim Day”, other minorities might be demanding similar treatment.
We would end up with
- “Hi Five Buddha Day”,
- “Hi Five Satan Day”,
- “Hi Five White Power Day” and
- “Hi Five People Who Like Phillipp Ruddock Day”
It would be chaos!!
(PS: Farhad made me do it!)
hi 5 a muslim day is great! i’m gonna high 5 all my mates. it should be high five a muslim day evey day. it’s just what all us musi’s need…
