Things have been (as you would expect) pretty hectic around here. This is what has been keeping me busy busy busy:
1. Baby was threatening to arrive a few times these past 2 weeks, prompting me to get my bum into gear and actually PACK the hospital bags. Alhamdulillah I’ve made it till the end of Ramadan!! (well ok..one more day but things are looking good).
2. My boys have contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (no, not the same as the animal Foot and Mouth Disease) and it’s been a rough week. It’s a horrible, horrible, horrible (and did I mention horrible?) condition. My 5 year old first picked it up and I’m still trying to figure out HOW and WHERE because all the reading I’ve done suggests it comes in outbreaks around schools and day care centres. His mouth was so sore and though he was hungry he couldn’t manage to eat anything. He was very fussy and irritable too (probably from pain, inability to eat and the fever that accompanied it…I did say it was horrible). Now my nearly 2 year old has picked it up though by the looks of it, alhamdulillah his symptoms are not as severe as his older brother. I’ve been frantically praying baby manages to stay put while the boys are shedding virus (it’s very contagious) as there have been reports of serious complications if a newborn gets infected. I’ve also been bleaching our dishes, kitchen counters and even the floor in the hopes that I don’t get it. Alhamdulillah I’ve been ok so far but the skin on my hands is peeling from all that washing.
3. My son turned 5! We didn’t mention his birthday was coming so he was over the moon when he woke up for sehri/suhoor one morning and there was a small little present for him at the table. Happy Birthday my little man!
4. I don’t think I have done any preparations for Eid. I don’t know what I’m cooking or even where we will go for Eid Salaah (the local masjid or the big shebang organised with a whole lot of masjids together). I will probably stay at home with the little one. If he wasn’t sick I’d have braved the crowds.
5. Eid here in Brisbane is Friday (some I suppose are celebrating today). Whenever you’re celebrating Eid Mubarak to you!

Eid Mubarak to you , sis…may Allah lighten your burden, ease your difficulties, forgive your sins and grant you boundless joy here and in the hereafter! Ameen.
Taqabbal Allahu minni wa minkum! May Allah make things easy for you ameen. I am making lots of du`aa for you… excited for the baby too! You hang in there now!
Oh no, that’s sounds awful. InshaAllah you will get much reward for your efforts.
