It’s 11:47 am and she’s barely managed a 2 second shower and put her clothes on (oh, don’t ask – it’s too long a story). Your first thought is:
a) Woah. Get thee to a Time Management Course STAT!
b) Her poor husband.
c) Heh. At least *I’m* not so disorganised. *smug grin*
d) She can’t possibly have gone to university. Liar.
e) PLEASE, DEAR GOD! WON’T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!
f) Oh to be a fly on the wall at her house.
g) Worst. Stay at home mother. Ever.
h) all of the above.

Isn’t this normal? Is it even possible to take a shower and get dressed when the kids are awake, lol?
The thing is that was ALL I had done for the morning. I honestly don’t know what I did with my time. No housework was done, definitely no cooking done and I don’t recall us doing any activities or anything worthy of being called educational or even just normal play!
try: (i) A normal situation that many mothers regularly find themselves in. she is a devoted, loving and smart mother who simply needs to believe that she is a good person and great mum, and stop beating herself up. she should repeat three times every day: “i will abolish unconstructive guilt. i am doing the best i can, and that is good enough. considering have three small children, the fact that i even managed to shower and dress is an achievement that deserves recognition!”
you rock, woman. believe it.
ditto w/Susan!
Mmmm…lime, yummy!
I didn’t realize there was a time to actually be out of my pajamas. Maybe I’ll consider it.. ok well maybe not.
I live in a land were an Abya makes it very easy to stay in pajamas all day!!
Good idea Nzingha! I think I’m comparing myself to my own mother (who I never once saw in pj’s now I think about it). She was always awake before everyone else and was straight into the shower in the morning. I know it’s probably not important in the grand scheme of things but it’s one trait that I always loved about my mum. I’m trying hard to emulate but I’m not often successful.
I am one of those horrible annoying mothers who actaully *does* get *some* stuff done during the day, but I am blessed with two miracle children who sleep 12 hours a night. Jules sleeps about 6 hours during the day too… so I manage to at least get my web and graphics work out of the way. And I shower most days… unless I cant be bothered
Housework, well, that often doesnt get done, but who cares?
oh and just to add, we all just do the best we can. I lose days, sometimes WEEKS, but all I try to do is get through the day and yes, like Susan said, bugger those who make you feel guilty for it.
