We spent an exciting day at Underwater World at Mooloolaba today.

The older 2 had an absolute blast. We did discover though that 1 year old’s time limit in the car is about 35 minutes, after which time he will inexplicably start screaming inconsolably. NOT fun if you decide to travel for about one and half hours. We stopped a couple of times to calm him down and I tried to nurse him but I think he just doesn’t travel well. Live & learn I guess.

I found the place a little disappointing, maybe because I was comparing it to Sydney or Melbourne’s version. The seals and otters are just adorable and the sharks nearly made me pee in my pants. No, not really but they *were* impressive. I have to say it – the giant squid was a huge let down. I was expecting something a lot more…I don’t know just a lot more ALIVE? or at least a little bit more GIANT.

6 year old once again demonstrated he has inherited his father’s sense of humour:

“Oh look! A school of fish.”

A larger fish passes by shortly after.

“And that must be their teacher!” *snigger*

1. My one year old’s whinging is like nails on a chalkboard. There are times when I do for him not out of love but just so he will be quiet.

2. I love waking up to find all 3 of my boys asleep in my room. Sometimes in our bed, sometimes on the mattress on the floor in our bedroom and the sweetest thing…when I find them asleep on the floor halfway between their room and mine.

3. There are days when I am glad I’m not homeschooling because all three are very demanding children and I can’t keep up with their requests/demands/crying. I can’t imagine doing this AND trying to teach reading and writing and maths.

4. I’m tired of giving.

5. I have over 3 laundry baskets full of clothes that need ironing/folding and putting away and another 2 baskets full that need washing. Because there is so much I don’t want to even start so the problem just escalates. HELP!

6. I’m getting dumber by the second.

7. They are so worth it.
