We spent an exciting day at Underwater World at Mooloolaba today.
The older 2 had an absolute blast. We did discover though that 1 year old’s time limit in the car is about 35 minutes, after which time he will inexplicably start screaming inconsolably. NOT fun if you decide to travel for about one and half hours. We stopped a couple of times to calm him down and I tried to nurse him but I think he just doesn’t travel well. Live & learn I guess.
I found the place a little disappointing, maybe because I was comparing it to Sydney or Melbourne’s version. The seals and otters are just adorable and the sharks nearly made me pee in my pants. No, not really but they *were* impressive. I have to say it – the giant squid was a huge let down. I was expecting something a lot more…I don’t know just a lot more ALIVE? or at least a little bit more GIANT.
6 year old once again demonstrated he has inherited his father’s sense of humour:
“Oh look! A school of fish.”
A larger fish passes by shortly after.
“And that must be their teacher!” *snigger*

TEE HEE!
I always love Underwater Parks, doesn’t matter where. I dragged Jason through the London Aquarium, even though it was pretty average compared to the Sydney one.. but I still enjoyed myself.
I loved 6yo’s teacher comment. Can he come in my class next year?
haha very funny
He sounds like Henny Youngman, get it, Henny young man
haha.
Eid Mubarak dear Sister, to you and your wonderful family, and Happy New Year!
I was thinking that Mooloolaba was a made-up name and then I remembered you were in Australia and clicked on the link. I must say I’m glad to have lived in places with pretty generic names, I’ve never undestoood why anyone would want to live in a place called Lynchburg.
Awww, How cute! Mashallah!
Eid Mubarak and Happy New Year!
Um Mahtab – that is an awesome sight. It’s one of those that you can keep clicking “next” and before you realise it, it’s 1 am and everyone in the house is sound asleep. No, it hasn’t happened to me…honest!
Aly – if we lived in the same town, I would make sure you taught my son!
Irving – heehee!
Eib Mubarak and a wonderful new year to you too.
Muslim Apple – Mooloolaba is actually one of the easier names. I love the way it just rolls of the tongue.
Suroor – Eid Mubarak and Happy New Year to you too.
