1. After much thinking, pondering, wondering and using my brain, all thanks to my dearest interfriend Achelois I approached husband to ask his take on the whole obedience thing. He told me in no uncertain terms that he would never want me to obey for the sake of obeying. He thinks women are equal in all respects in a marriage and that if there is any ever disagreement, both husband and wife would need to reach some sort of MUTUALLY AGREEABLE compromise. Don’t hate – just say machaAllah!
So, here I am in a pickle of sorts. Do I disobey my husband and obey him? Or to I obey him and be happy to disobey? All answers must include evidence from Qur’an and hadith. kthxbye.
2. I have succumbed!
Today I borrowed the first Harry Potter book.
So dear, faithful and most certainly well-read people of the intermawebs, my question is: Do I take the next and final step and actually READ THE BOOK?
Edit to add: I’m getting an awful lot of new readers for this particular post. Someone is emailing this link to all and sundry and then all and sundry are duly visiting. One can only assume it’s because of my first question – lest it not be glaringly obvious from my other one million posts – I am being facetious.

But masha’Allah and also get your husband down to the nearest cloning facility. Tee hee.
Yes, read the book. You will enjoy it. Honest! Just don’t come crying to me when you realize that you’re on book six and book seven is The Last One…
Obey him in everything he is right about. Talk when you think he is wrong.

i say try to get him to start obeying YOU
Achelois – I thought I’d do that, too
b. – I have started the book – 6 year old is as enthralled as I am.
