Category: Life and stuff

I’ve joined Facebook but I still don’t really get it! I did so well by not joining Myspace even though all the cool kids were doing it. Facebook looks so much neater but it’s hard work trying to find friends. *wail*It’s like being in a room crowded with people and checking each one out, then walking up to them one at a time and asking if they want to be friends. And then waiting while they eye you up and down, checking out what you are wearing (MODEST DRESS if you have to know) and then decide whether you are worthy enough to talk to. Brings back memories of school. *sob*

In other news, nothing much to report. 6 year old has finally managed to make the farting noise with his armpit and yes, we are proud parents. I didn’t learn to do that until I was 11 years old and husband? Well he never learnt it at all. Children nowadays, so advanced aren’t they?

Nearly 4 year old and nearly 2 year old are fighting with each other CONSTANTLY and I mean continuous, neverstopping, like a freight-train. The youngest purposely looks at his brother and we all know LOOKING is heinous offence which should be punished with screaming, yelling and pushing. Of course, nearly 2 year old appeals the decision by screaming, yelling and pushing back. And so it goes.

Husband was ill yesterday and I really wonder if he managed to recuperate at all what with all the racket here at home. I dare say he would have had more respite if he went to work. Needless to say, despite his continued headache and mild fever, he has trundled off to work today.

Tonight is pizza night which means I can start panicking about not cooking only 20 minutes before dinner is scheduled instead of the usually 2 hours before.

Oy, I really need to get into a routine again.

Me: Z, please pick up your dirty clothes and put them in the laundry basket, tidy your room up and make your bed…..stop whinging about little things….need to help me around the house……take care of your younger brothers and stop nagging them…..life isn’t easy…….I’m really tired and need a bit of a rest….lots of people will be coming to visit over the next few days…. need you to be on your best behaviour…..grandparents going back home…….do your homework without fussing… etc etc

Z: You have a big pimple on your nose!

(Later in the day)

Me: D, try not to annoy your brother! Stop screaming at him and he will stop screaming at you, it’s really quite simple….life isn’t easy…..need you to be on your best behaviour…lots of people coming to visit etc etc.

D: What’s that thing on your nose?

(Later in the day again)

Me: Oh please just tell me what you want instead of whinging! Do you want water? Milk? Milk in the beaker? Nene? Outside? Shoes? Socks…etc etc.

M(pointing to my nose): Ummy got owah?

(Later that evening)

Mum: What’s that thing on your nose?

Me: It’s a PIMPLE!

Mum: Didn’t you use any concealer?

Me: Yes, actually I did! *sob*

(Later again that evening)

Random guest*: You have a pimple on your nose.

Me: Oh really? I hadn’t noticed. Thanks for pointing it out.

*Whom** I will never invite to my house again!

**Is that the correct use of the who/whom thing?
