*sigh*

It isn’t that I’m mean and nasty although after reading this post you will undoubtedly believe it to be so. I’ve twice this week been the recipient of some drive-by mothering so at least I have some excuse for being so darn crabby.

First off, lady I don’t need you to tell me my son’s gash on his eye looks bad. I don’t need you to tell me he needs stitches or steri-strips and aloe vera and OH MY GOD IT’S GOING TO SCAR and WHY ON EARTH DIDN’T YOU GO TO SEE YOUR FATHER?

Ok and other lady – I know how to carry my child. I know I should be gentle. I know him well enough to know if I jingle my car keys while I’m carrying him he isn’t going to wake up SCREAMING and even if he did wake up because the blasted key jingled then so what?

Ugh.

I know they’re a little bit older and they deserve respect for being elders so I bit my tongue & agreed with everything they said which made me out to be a completely incompetent parent when I know myself I’m only HALF incompetent.

Thanks a lot, ladies.
