Fed 7 year old mango and apple and then we did homework. Got everyone toileted and changed ready for swimming. Got in car only to discover 2 year old had spilled a bottle of water over ALL the seats in the car. No time to panic – grabbed extra towels and we all sat on wet seats – no drama since we were all in our swimming gear anyway.
Swam.
Home.
7 year old helped set the table and I started frying skewers. We decided that we wouldn’t have a shower today – we were all too tired and hungry. Made a salad and husband came home and helped out with salad, cooking and getting kids organised. Husband and 7 yr old prayed Maghrib together. Fed the kids. We sat down a bit later. Husband washed dishes as I veged out in front of computer (DP says don’t hate..just say MachaAllah).
Dessert – my chocolate cake.
Neighbour came over as her dog was sick. Went over to check dog out. InshaAllah he will be ok.
Came back home – kids already in PJs, teeth brushed and all! Husband is tops! Read a story to the older two while husband put the little one to bed.
Waiting for kids to sleep so we can exhale.

The nicest thing about your day is how well you took care of Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghreb and Isha.
what i loved most about this amaaaazing day (seriously, woman, you are a machine!) is the way you and husband are total partners. it’s beautiful. you must have an awesome relationship
respect!
excellent job on the rotis!!
and i think your day sounds MUCH more busy that mine!
What a funfilled day for your kids. My kids are always asking me to go for a swim with them and I give a lot of excuses even if the pool is in the backyard. (weather too hot, raining, water too cold, lol). They had lots of fun though when their aunt came to stay. And OMG. Have you successfully weaned your 2yo son off breastfeeding? I’m not having much success esp when he wants his naps. (He actually shuts the door behind him so I can’t go out the bedroom). My 2yo is also sooo attached to me that I can’t dump him at childcare at the sports centre and swim laps with my neighbour. I tried once and he screamed his head off. I guess I’m doom to do/ exercise with my toddler as dh puts it, “go to the park and jog a few rounds” kinda of exercise thingy.
mummyjaan – there are some days when I’ve forgotten whether or not I have prayed – I think we tend to get so caught up in the schedule of our lives that we forget to schedule prayer and reflection time.
susan – mashaAllah. He is a hands-on father and my sanity is intact (it’s hanging by a thread so imagine what my state of mind would be if he didn’t help out)
Mona and shaz – thanks. The rotis are still not ones I would serve my mother but I’m getting there.
umm-fi-ard – Tuesdays we go for swimming lessons. I decided to make this a priority – my 7 year old is not in the least bit sporty and we all could do with some exercise. He enjoys swimming and I do believe it’s a great skill to have.
And no I haven’t stopped with the breastfeeding! I didn’t mention this but I did feed him at 4:30 in the morning. I think I’ve gone down to about one or two feeds a day, more if he is having a bad day and needs comfort.
My little one is also attached to me and the first week at the gym creche was hard for me and him. It helps that it’s only for 45 mins to one and a bit hours so he doesn’t have that much time to miss me. He loves going now and I see that he holds his own when other kids try and snatch toys from him! We really need to get together more often so I children get to know each other and us, I would love to babysit for you while you get a break.
