No, not the pregnant kind. Just the usual run of the mill sugar cravings. I gots them.
And since you are reading this blog and that of course automatically means you want to know everything about me I shall tell you why I have the sugar cravings:
diet.
I’m on it.
Not to lose weight but to bulk up and become she-woman. I am bench pressing 30 kg people. THIRTY. (With someone helping me – does that count? I can do plenty if someone is helping me) So here’s what my diet consists of -
1. NOTHING SWEET except for fruit and we all know that the sweetness of fruit cannot compare to the sugary goodness of a chocolate bar or chocolate cake or cheesecake or SUGAR IN MY TEA I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR A SMALL TASTE OF THOSE DELICATE CRYSTALS OF MELT IN THE MOUTH SYRUPY SWEETNESS I WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND IF YOU WOULD JUST GO AND BUY ME A PACKET OF CHOCOLATE BISCUITS JUST ONE PLEASE.
2. Chicken breast and lots of it. It’s bland and dry and I’m totally over it.
3. Water. What is with that? I’m expected to drink water? WHY WOULD I DO THAT??? Seriously, I hate drinking water. I would much prefer to drink milk (not on my list of “allowed” foods) or coke (definitely not on my list)
4. Broccoli and cauliflower.
5. Brown rice – apparently the carb of choice. It’s quite nice but it does get a bit boring.
It may surprise you to know I have stuck this out for nearly THREE months. Heck, it’s surprised me. Although in my first 2 months I was allowed a free meal every week which to me meant I could eat all day and whatever I wanted but I think that was going a bit overboard -whoops.
So I have two weeks till the final weigh in and measuring.
The first thing I am going to do when I’ve finished is eat a whole chocolate cake. By myself.
Edited to add: I’m really not that wonderful – I am allowed more vegetables than just broccoli and cauliflower – that’s just what I’ve been eating of late. And I succumbed and ate 2 ferreros last night.

oh nice, three months is a crazy long time on that diet – i’m so undisciplined.
go, tas!
you are amazing. today i ate….well, best not to say. my defence is, i’m still breast-feeding a 14 month old gargantuan baby, who would feed ALL. DAY. LONG. if given half the chance, so i need to calories.
i know. i don’t even convince myself.
but you are awesome. go girl. give us pix! everyone loves a before and after.
PS dude, i’ve tried the password again at home on a different computer with a different internet connection and server and it does not work. are you SURE it’s right? maybe you made a teensy spelling mistake?????? because it surely couldn’t be ME who’s wrong. Lordy, no.
Chicken breast…blech. I started drinking a lot of water recently too. Once you start, you miss it when you stop. Good luck, and keep it up!
Ah! Diet – ‘die at’. I can’t do it
mmmm…chocolate
Ok, now I’m hungry!
oh wow.good going.and i am so totally with you at your choice of food when dieting is over.
Mona – the first two months was great since I got a free meal (which I took to mean a free day) so if I was good all week, I would reward myself with whatever I wanted – usually a packet of chocolate biscuits and a cup of tea.
Susan – breastfeeding is an awesome excuse for EVERYTHING. Sorry, i can’t come in to work – BREASTFEEDING. No, can’t carry that heavy load of stuff..breastfeeding.
and try the password again otherwise i can just copy and paste it and email it to you. You will be very disappointed when you finally read it.
Brain – thanks! I know what you mean about missing water. I have been pretty good with drinking it and I’ve noticed that I don’t get those dehydration type headaches anymore. Whod a thunk it?
Achelois – if I can do it, anybody can.
Amir – yeah, chocolate!
umarah – if you weren’t over the other side of the world I would ask you to join me in celebratory cake eating
are you on the abs or south beach diet?
i was on it (still sorta am) and it was HARDDD
i agree fruits dont hit the spot, nothing like pureeee sugar, i always used to head towards laura secord when i craved, but kept it to 1 little piece…
try chicken breast sandwich with homemade guacamole, avocados are great for you, and it’s pure heaven!!
I don’t think this one has a name (it’s done up by my trainer – yes I have a trainer! How American is that?). She says it’s a modification of the body for life one although not as strict – the body for life diet didn’t allow so much fruit and their weights program takes way too long – I’m getting better results with what she’s given me.
Oh God, Tasmiya. You have turned into a body building junkie!!! It is addictive isn’t it. I think I’m turning into one well not the body builder type just a sports junkie?! ie thinking when I can run or go to the gym (sadly a pathetic once a week)and trying not to eat heaps of rice for dinner. Sorry I haven’t made it to the weekly playgroup yet. I am really busy training at the moment!
Go the sports junkie! Hey. How about coming to do the Bridge to Brisbane with me? I am talking heaps about it but just know I will cave in and just not go. If I have someone counting on me and me counting on them then we can pull it off. It’s only 6 kms and I am sure treadmill junkie that you are, that we’d finish it in an hour or so, …surely???
The playgroups are still on and you are of course always welcome.
I think Bridge to Brisbane is going to be held on 7 September instead of usual August.
Would not mind doing it with you but then it is Ramadan then so how?
