A week without a blog entry from me. How have you all survived, my petals?
It’s been a hectic week for us. Getting passports organised, homework, madressah, school & work and whatnot. We are going on a holiday! Still a few weeks away but there is so much to do. Pack stuff. Make lists of other stuff. Clean other stuff. You know, just stuff.
So..do you like stuff?
« Dead Right! Kick the Bucket! and so on and so forth… Whinge and Alhamdulillah »

Oo! a holiday! i love holidays! where are you going? and yeah, i love stuff, mostly, unless it prevents me from doing other stuff. you know?
You know what? I think you are making up stuff to show us you are busy! That is the real stuff
OK, all my letters just turned into Chinese characters in the name and email box!! This is what I call strange STUFF!
Mona : We’re off to Malaysia inshaAllah. I have to admit I am just way too excited about going out to almost anywhere and being able to eat everything without having to ask, “does this have any meat in it? What emulsifier are you using? blah blah.” We haven’t even thought about the sightseeing – we’re too busy fantasising about the food!
Suroor: Shhh. I’m trying to maintain my aura of mystery! Gosh!
Malaysia rocks! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon, and basically just ate ourselves stoopid there. Yes, I even ate McDonalds once, just to remember what it was like (and it was awful). The best part for us was the buffet breakfast in the hotel each morning- we would eat like maniacs, even stuff we didn’t necessarily want (yes- nafs alert) just cos it was meat AND we could! Like sausages and beef bacon. Have a fantastic time. Petaling St was fun from memory, the mosques blew my mind, and if you want to go swimming at any of the water theme parks, make sure you have a burkini (or similar) as many of them don’t allow normal hijabs to worn in the water (apparently the cotton clogs the drains).
I’m jealous.
And stuff? Who likes stuff anymore?
Mmmm. Malaysian, yum. How exciting! When are your plans to travel.
(And I absolutely missed you!)
Tasmiya, have fun in the sun in M’sia. Tis the dry season now apparently. You are cordially invited to eat lots of roti canai and drink teh tarik AND fatten up your skinny sons at Mac Ds, A & W, KFC and Burger Kings there. lol. If you want any info about M’sia’s touristic destinations, just contact me. (Gosh, I hope I still remember where they are).
Salamaat,
ooohh…how exciting! I missed your witty posts! I don’t like Stuff, but if used in the same sentence as Holidays, then bring on the STUFF
Enjoy ya self, take lots of pics and eat lots and enjoy and come back and share
Malaysia and Spain are on my would-love-to-visit-list
Going on holiday is great. Stuff I can do without. When I travel, I take one carry-on suitcase. More is too much.
Have a wonderful time
Ya Haqq!
Salaam!
Susan – Hotel Breakfast! Husband has been instructed to please take care of the children till say about 11 because I will be busy stuffing myself for breakfast. And can you believe I am actually looking forward to MacDonald’s. How sad is that!
Aly: I missed you too! I can see your holiday is now a story from the distant past
Umm-Fi-Ard: I was thinking about emailing you. Jazakallah for the offer. We’ve visited Malaysia before; though it was some time ago. We will be staying in KL. I read your busdriver post the other day. I’m not sure if we will be taking the bus over there but who knows! InshaAllah will email you when the kids are in bed later on tonight.
Maliha : Yeah stuff isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. We’re still waiting on passports but I’ve just got confirmation they will be sent in the next week or so. Phew! Oh you can bet I will have a blast. It’s been a long time since we’ve been on a holiday and the boys are just going to LOVE it.
Irving: one carry-on and that’s it? You are a true Sufi
I am trying to pack as little as I can but I know with the boys and their tendency to spill and mess, I will have to have at least 2 changes of clothes just for the plane!
Salaam Tasmiya,
Before I forget. This year is Visit Malaysia Year 2007 and there are all sorts of promo going on. There is a big ferris wheel similar to London Eye launched Jan 6 at Lake Titiwangsa smack in the middle of KL. However, do email me and tell me what interest you like family oriented activities, shopping, adventure, beach or rain forest. Maybe I can recommend something.(I actually chatted with a taxi driver about what he could do next time he is KL and he said I gave him some valuable info, hehe).
ohhhh! Malaysia! have fun! people there are SO nice!
like, i live in dubai and totally don’t see why e’one’s going on and on about “halal” food and stuff
okay, i’m just being mean, haha.
have a brilliant holiday, tasmiya! and please, please bring back loads of pictures.
ooo, go paddle boating in the lake by the buddhist temple (sorry, don’t remember any names) and pretend that you’re pedalling too (but just enjoy the quiet beauty of the place) and when your husband asks you why you’re not as tired as he is, after all that pedalling, just say you’re in better shape and giggle.
haha.
Salam Tasmiya. Wow malaysia! how exotic. InshaAllah the packing and trip will go well and you’ll get that break you need.
Mona: You big meanie
I will definitely try that trick on husband though.
Mona UmIbrahim: Ameen!
