As much as I love being around the children and acting as designated peacemaker, entertainer and chef preferably simultaneously, sometimes my attention turns to other pressing obligations aka surfing the internets.

In the brief moments I have turned away from the little ones, I have had to contend with:

one. Ballpoint pen all over husband’s very newly purchased ie. less than 24 hour old monitor. Nobody has actually admitted to this one and since 7 year old was at school at the time and I can usually tell when 4 year old is fibbing, we have all decided that it could only be 2 year old. Of course we haven’t reprimanded or lectured since we never caught him in the act of vandalism.

two. 2 year old smothering nappy rash ointment all over his chest, hair and my monitor.

three. 7 year old swinging on the chair and of course toppling over, taking poor little 4 year old with him.

four. 2 year old walking around with a glass of milk in his hand (I really DISLIKE this habit of walking and eating or walking and drinking) and then spilling milk all over carpet. I always know something’s up when he comes looking for me saying, “Sorry, mum!”
