Whinge: My house is a pigsty and I’m nowhere near getting it to look decent.
Alhamdulillah: I have a roof over my head and the luxury that is insulation in that roof.
Whinge: It’s raining and I have a ton of washing to do.
Alhamdulillah: Brisbane is under water restrictions because of the drought and we could all do with some rain. Plus husband bought me a HUGE clothes airer that I can use inside the house and the clothes do eventually get dry.
Whinge: My boys are running around acting crazy and fighting.
Alhamdulillah: They are healthy children who have mashaAllah HUGE reserves of energy. They bounce back quickly after falls and they are happy people.
Whinge: My son has just left me a present in his nappy.
Alhamdulillah: His bowels are functioning.
Whinge: I have to work on Saturday and I’m not looking forward to it. I didn’t get a break at all last weekend and I feel like I need some time to myself. I don’t know when I will get it.
Alhamdulillah: I am not alone. I am not craving human touch and connection. I have a job that I love. It keeps my brain active, I am helping people (and their pets) and the short amount of time I am away from my family helps me to appreciate them even more. The hours are flexible so weekend work suits us fine. Husband can take care of the kids on weekends and I have them on weekdays. No worries about childcare.
Whinge: Husband’s employers have cracked down on internet usage at work which means I don’t get to chat to him on Gmail chat anymore ![]()
Alhamdulillah: Husband has a job.
Whinge: Whooboy that smell from aforementioned son’s nappy is stinking out the house.
Alhamdulillah: I have a keen olfactory sense.
