After explaining to a client the process of a skin scraping to check for mites (“I scrape the skin gently with a scalpel blade until there is a small amount of bleeding”), having to then explain that the blood dripping down her dog’s leg is not the norm for a skin scraping and does not belong to her dog. In fact, it is actually MINE because I was stupid enough to jab my finger with said scalpel.

Going to the gym this morning and getting all excited that someone put the fan on. THE FAN! Cool breezes! WOOOHOO! Then getting disgusted and nearly vomiting because the breeze brings along with its gentle coolness, the combination of everyone’s malodorous stench, deodorant and strong perfume. Getting home for a shower to figure out the smell was from MY t-shirt. Eww.

Oh my GOSH I love this country!

TEN WORKING DAYS -that’s how long I can expect to wait for an Australian passport. A PASSPORT! I don’t even have to wait in a queue. I book my interview at a recognised Australia Post post office, turn up with the completed forms and VOILA – they check stuff out, lodge it in to the passport office and it’s done. We are so spoilt here.

We have a few paperbark trees at the edge of our street. They’ve become overgrown and branches and leaves are obstructing our view of traffic. A quick call to the council and I will have a vegetation officer come and inspect the trees. He/she will pop a written report in my letterbox telling me what will be done and in the next TEN to 15 WORKING DAYS the offending trees will either be pruned or cut off. Did you hear that..A VEGETATION OFFICER! Australia has vegetation officers.

Yep. Love this country.
