Ahh the days when the kids are at Grandma’s. We had a sort of weekend like that. Only our were taken by Grandma in the morning for breakfast and had to come back home later in the day cuz we had some friends over. But…I went into Mr. Clean mode, and spic and spanned the main floor of the house. I was beat by the end…BUT..BUT…we have actually managed to keep it looking tidy since then! A huge accomplishment for us.
My poor 7 year old even commented on how clean the house was and then he followed up with “is it because we weren’t here to mess things up?”
It was on the tip of my tongue to say, “Well..actually….YEAH!”
Sounds exactly like what we do when the girls aren’t here. Except we tell them that it was soo nice not to have mess everywhere – only joking with them of course.
You weren’t bored then?!
Aneesa – tell me they start cleaning up of their own accord as they get older? Please say that!
ShadeofRahmah – Salaam and welcome! We were not bored but did enjoy time to ourselves and time to relax. I think anything longer than the night and the day and we would have been bored. We chatted about the children the whole time they were gone.
