Montreal dad got to hospital in time, but still delivered wife’s baby himself

A Montreal man got his wife to the Royal Victoria hospital in lots of time for her to have her baby, but he says he still had to deliver it himself because there was no medical staff around to help.

But the baby arrived before the nurse did, Schouls said.

“[Karine] just kind of leaned back, and all of a sudden I see the baby starting to come out,” he said.

“I just put my hand on his chest, and my fingers around his armpits, and my other hand kind of on his face …and I just pulled him out.“

Woah. Way to go, dad. I guess your wife was just sitting around filing her nails and reading a novel. Lord knows how she managed without you. Another thing – Did any other mothers open their mouths wide and shut their thighs tight in complete horror to think that he actually PULLED THE BABY OUT? Then again, once the HEAD, the SHOULDERS and the CHEST are completely out, all mum has to do is pass a little gas and baby can slip out quite easily so talk about completely superfluous act of “heroism” from the father.

In other news – a hundred thousand children were born without the presence of any male and they are all alive and doing well. The mind boggles.

Do marines eat nutella? Because that’s pretty much my complete diet right there.

We watched the new episode of the Chaser’s War on Everything and I’m not going so far as to declare war on anything but I just won’t be watching again. Why did husband and I ever think they were funny? Were they funny in previous seasons? I vaguely remember the election show – what was that one? – had some good bits.

I’m not going to go through the whole show skit by skit but for I will say the delivery of the naked goods was very very disturbing. Not even uncomfortable because it’s true sort of disturbing but just completely effed up, this needs a huge trigger warning sort of disturbing. And I would have LOVED it if Julian had managed to bring the real, human womanly Governor General instead of that mannequin and then witnessed the reactions of the boys-only crew.

So there we have it.

I still swoon over Craig though.
